The makers of supposed substitutes such as Kodi and VLC need to make their apps as simple to install and use as Adobe has done with its Flash Player but without the security issues. Several times in the past I have downloaded and installed Flash.

- I downloaded a adobe flash player.zip file for PowerPC and I extracted it so now its two folders named FlashPlayer.plugin and __MACOSX with other folders and things inside. There is also a README.txt thingy.
- Apr 08, 2011 On my Powerbook I have Mac OS X 10.5.8. And I know the download thing for Adobe like you click the down arrow and pick what system you have and everything and I do click 'Mac OS X 10.4-10.6 or whatever and I do have inbetween the range of 10.4-10.6 so I.
- Adobe Install different version of Adobe Flash Player Then click the link on the bottom-left that says this: 'If your operating system/browser combination is not displayed, click here for older versions of Adobe Flash Player.

New Flash Player beta speeds Mac performance
Adobe has posted Beta 2 of the upcoming Flash Player 10 to Adobe Labs. Player engineer Tinic Uro shares some notes, pointing out that on Mac OS X this new build runs the GUIMark test suite some 3x faster than previous versions. He posted more details in this comment. Given that I heard a lot of criticism of the performance of Flash on Mac when I blogged about possibly using Flash inside the Photoshop UI, I thought it would be worthwhile sharing the good news.
